NADYNE ROSIN
Nadyne Rosin is the Public Policy Chair for Portland Branch AAUW and DEI Chair of the Gresham Area Branch. Always politically active, she has been very involved in The League of Women Voters and AAUW for well over 30 years. She feels both organizations, in addition to the Businesswomen of America, have been critically important in educating women to vote, to pursue advanced degrees, and to promote and support one another in the business world. She served as president of the Falls Church branch of AAUW, co-president of the League of Women Voters of Delaware, and state president of Delaware AAUW.
|
Born in Belgium, Nadyne emigrated to the United States when she was two years old and grew up in the Patterson area of northern New Jersey. She completed her undergraduate work in history and political science at Douglas College in New Brunswick, NJ. She later returned to school to study interior design, which led to her career as an interior designer. Seven years ago, she and her husband moved to Oregon, and she has been active in AAUW since arriving.
Her concerns about the future focus on the role of women, how we define ourselves, what equality means, how we can promote global peace through leadership roles, how we deal with our current polarization and divisiveness through understanding of our social and historical past. Additional concerns include the importance of fostering the study of foreign languages and the arts. She is cautiously optimistic about the future and pleased that we are beginning to address climate change and the inequities of our justice system.
