INTEREST GROUPS & PROGRAMS

STUDY/INTEREST GROUPS

Study/Interest groups are a great way to get involved in Portland AAUW. Our groups enjoy the arts and culture, reading and study, food and fun. Interesting conversations occur in smaller group settings with like-minded women, and fast friendships can be made. The current newsletter may often list updates not shown here.

2023-2024 MONTHLY PROGRAMS

Portland AAUW plans and holds all-member meetings with programs related to the mission. Meetings vary in date, time and format in an effort to accommodate the varying schedules of our members and of the speakers.
This year's program theme, "Celebrate the Arts", was adopted in response to the effects of the pandemic on the arts. Oregon is considered one of the seven states with the most writers, with more concern and support for the arts, and with better teaching of the arts in our schools. Yet many small theaters and galleries have closed or are struggling, leaving playwrights and artists searching for both venue and audience. We want to promote live events, people, and ideas that may have caught your eye or affected your emotions.  It's time to enjoy each other’s company and to enjoy our city as well.
