The AAUW Action Fund
Mission: The AAUW Action Fund advances equity for women and girls through member activism and voter mobilization.
Once a week, volunteer members and college student interns give AAUW Action Fund a voice and a face on Capitol Hill. Since its formation in 1972, the Lobby Corps has made tens of thousands of visits to congressional offices, making AAUW a familiar and respected name among members of Congress and their staffs. Because of this corps, working hand in hand with lobbying staff, AAUW has had a significant political impact on legislation concerning issues such as education, civil rights, reproductive rights and economic security.
Because it is vital that women go to the polls knowing where the candidates stand on issues, the AAUW Action Fund voter guides provide nonpartisan information about candidate positions on issues that are key to the mission and priorities of both AAUW and the Action Fund.
National dues includes $3 dedicated to the Action Fund. Donations to this fund are not tax deductible.
